Threat Detection Engineer - Mastech Digital

Mastech Digital provides digital and mainstream technology staff as well as Digital Transformation Services for all American Corporations. We are currently seeking a Threat Detection Engineer for our client in the Professional Services domain. We value our professionals, providing comprehensive benefits and the opportunity for growth. Duration: 6+ Months Contract

Location: Dallas, Texas (Remote)

Salary: $85.00-$90.00/Hourly

Role: Threat Detection Engineer

Primary Skills: Detection Engineering/Identity & Access Management

Role Description: The Threat Detection Engineer must have 8+ years of experience. This is a remote opportunity. The ideal candidate should have strong programming or scripting experience, particularly with Splunk for writing SQL and Microsoft Sentinel for creating analytical rules using KQL.

This role is a highly skilled role. In this role, you will be responsible for identifying, developing, and implementing security detection rules to meet the client needs.

Required Experience and Skills:

Strong candidates will meet the following qualifications:

- Experience with cybersecurity best practices.

- Experience with cybersecurity tools, systems, and solutions.

- Security experience with one or more of the following: application, networking, endpoint, server/virtualization, data, or cloud.

- Programming and/or Scripting experience required in both Splunk writing SQL, and Microsoft Sentinel writing MS Sentinel analytical rules in KQL.

- Ability to problem solve.

- Strong attention to detail.

- Strong communication skills.

- Huge plus if you are in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area.

Additional Skills:

- Threat detection engineering, analytic rule development, Splunk Query Language, Kusto Query Language (KQL).

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Information Technology or another related field or Equivalent

Experience: Minimum 8+ years of experience

Relocation: This position will not cover relocation expenses
