Position Summary
The Therapist provides outpatient behavioral health therapy and counseling to children and families in the Lancaster Community. Therapy services are designed, utilizing best practices and trauma informed approaches, to meet the specific mental health needs of the client and support the family in creating the environment and structures needed for the child’s success. The behavioral health services provided by the team and coordinated by the Psychiatrist strive to improve the child’s mental well-being and social functioning.

Reports to: Manager - Therapy
Responsibilities
● Conducts client intakes and assessments, focusing on diagnostic and functional evaluations, to create client-centered treatment plans and establish treatment goals.
● Provides focused therapeutic interventions for clients to enhance and foster the client’s optimal functioning and coping both in the community and at home.
● Assesses client needs, service availability and appropriateness of services.
● Coordinates care with the client’s care team (psychiatric provider, family wellness coach and case manager) as well as appropriate external providers, as applicable.
● Provides clients with self-management skills and educational information needed so they can be full participants in their own treatment and recovery;
● Consults with department and organization leadership as well as team members about behavioral services and suggested areas of outcome and program evaluation.
● Maintains appropriate and timely documentation of the clients’ progress and diagnostic information in the client’s electronic medical record.
● Maintains compliance with regard to state, federal and CHI guidelines.
Education (including licenses, certifications):
● Master’s degree in a Mental Health Field (Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, etc.)
● Licensed as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) or Licensed Professional Counselor (L-PC) in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
Experience required and preferred:
● Minimum of 3-years experience, working with children and families, preferred.
● Bi-Lingual (Spanish) strongly preferred.
● Knowledge of Evidence-based best practices, trauma informed therapy and client-centered treatment.
Skill Competencies:
● Excellent communication skills – both written and verbal
● Ability to handle multiple tasks
● Comfort working with computers and with utilizing tele-psych technology
● Demonstrate a high comfort working with diverse populations and an understanding of the cultural and social barriers that can exist when accessing health or health-related care.
● Promote a positive team-based approach to treatment and care.
