Summary: SJFMC is looking to hire Licensed Professional Counselor to join our collaborative team providing services to underserved communities in New Jersey. The LCSW will be provided an initial caseload of clients to be seen weekly for therapy sessions.
Position Responsibilities/Duties:
• Responsible for assessing patients, utilizing therapeutic techniques, and providing supportive counseling to individuals and groups
• Facilitate psychoeducation and empowerment, and the sharing of experience and knowledge
• Evaluate clients’ needs and develop personalized treatment plans
• Advocate on behalf of the client and make referrals for appointments and provide assistance
• Support each individual’s desire for independence and increased self-confidence in client-centered environment, using evidenced-based techniques.
• Consistently document treatment session content and generate individualized and group progress notes in a timely manner
• Build and maintain positive relationships and ongoing communication with the team, staff members, patients and families
• Crisis intervention as applicable
• Provide clinical supervision as needed to LSWs, as well as guidance and support to the MHA/CMA.
• Other duties as assigned to support organizational and program goals

Required Experience:
• LPC with minimum two years of experience conducting Individual and Group therapy with adults, some experience with adolescents and children preferred
• New Jersey state licensure
• Clinical Supervision Certification preferred
• Master’s degree
• Experience working with the underserved population a plus
• Capacity to be respectful of the unique concerns and issues experienced by clients and their caregivers.
• Strong communication skills (verbal and writing), ability to collaborate and work well with others
• Ability to demonstrate professionalism, compassion, and respect for all individuals
• Strong mental/behavioral health diagnoses and psychiatric medication knowledge
• Bilingual in Spanish, Portuguese, and/or Creole preferred but not limited to
