Position Overview
UNC Health Appalachian Behavioral Health is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Therapist to join our team. The ideal candidate will be licensed as an LCSW, LPA, LMFT, or LCMHC and will possess a strong background in providing mental health services to individuals, couples, families, and groups. Key Responsibilities:
Conduct comprehensive assessments to evaluate clients' mental health needs, strengths, and challenges.Develop individualized treatment plans based on assessment findings and in collaboration with clients.Provide evidence-based therapy modalities to address a range of mental health concerns, including but not limited to depression, anxiety, trauma, substance abuse, and relationship issues.Offer crisis intervention and support to clients experiencing acute psychological distress or suicidal ideation.Maintain accurate and up-to-date clinical documentation, including progress notes, treatment plans, and discharge summaries, in accordance with organizational policies and regulatory requirements.Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members, including psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, and case managers, to ensure coordinated and holistic care for clients.Participate in regular case consultations, peer supervision, and professional development activities to enhance clinical skills and knowledge.Provide psychoeducation to clients and their families on topics related to mental health, coping strategies, and community resources.Advocate for the needs of clients within the healthcare system and community settings, promoting access to quality mental health services and reducing stigma surrounding mental illness.Adhere to ethical guidelines and standards of practice set forth by relevant licensing boards and professional associations.Qualifications:
Master's or doctoral degree in counseling, social work, psychology, or a related field from an accredited institution.Current licensure in North Carolina as an LCSW, LPA, LMFT, or LCMHC, with no restrictions or pending disciplinary actions.Minimum of 2 years of post-licensure experience providing therapy in a clinical setting preferred.Proficiency in conducting diagnostic assessments, formulating treatment plans, and implementing evidence-based interventions.Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to establish rapport with diverse populations, including individuals from various cultural backgrounds and ages.Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively document clinical interactions and communicate with interdisciplinary team members.Commitment to ongoing professional development and adherence to ethical principles and legal standards of practice.Flexibility to work occasional evenings or weekends to accommodate client needs and program activities.Benefits:
