About the Job
We are looking for an experienced Line Cook to join our talented team and help prepare meals according to our standard recipes. In this position, your principal goal will be to prepare high-quality meals that meet the chef's exact specifications.
You will be responsible for setting up the prep station, stocking inventory, and maintaining sanitation standards. To be successful in this role, the ideal candidate will possess excellent communication and multi-tasking skills. Candidates must have excellent personal presentation and interpersonal skills.
Job Requirements
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Run the day to day operation of the assigned station in the kitchen.
- Check and complete mise en place, pars and set-up of the station.
- Communicate with the Chefs regarding menu items, problem situations or shortages.
- Work closely with standard recipes and plate presentations in order to maintain standards of quality in production and presentation.
- Store items properly at the end of the shift.
- Ensure a clean, neat and organized work area
- Conduct oneself in a professional manner at all times.
- Maintain a good working relationship with other employees.
- Perform other tasks or projects as assigned by management.
Line Cook Requirements:
- Culinary school training advantageous.
- 2-3 years experience as a line cook.
- Strong team working and communication skills.
- Flexibility to work shifts, weekends, nights, and holidays.
- Ability to work in a stressful, fast-paced environment.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods standing and preparing and cooking food.
- Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at times.
- Must be able to work in a kitchen environment that may involve exposure to extreme heat or cold.
- Manual dexterity to operate cooking tools such as knives.
