Pay: $18-$30/hour Depending on Experience (OT Available)
Summary: Reporting to the Senior Transformer Test Engineer and the Test Field Service Team Leader, the Test Technician will play a key role in testing, troubleshooting, and maintaining transformers, rectifiers, power supplies, and related equipment. This position requires technical expertise, independent work, and the ability to travel extensively.

Summary: Reporting to the Senior Transformer Test Engineer and the Test Field Service Team Leader, the Test Technician will play a key role in testing, troubleshooting, and maintaining transformers, rectifiers, power supplies, and related equipment. This position requires technical expertise, independent work, and the ability to travel extensively.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform testing and troubleshooting of transformers, rectifiers, power supplies (digital and analog), circuits, PLCs, and other equipment using multimeters, oscilloscopes, temperature probes, chart recorders, watt meters, and similar tools.
- Conduct commissioning installations, preventive maintenance, complex troubleshooting, problem analysis, and product-specific service tasks.
- Work independently with minimal supervision and collaborate effectively with teams.
- Travel domestically and internationally (approximately 40-50% of the time) to service equipment after completing probationary training.
- Execute equipment and unit start-ups, performing field service activities and consulting with engineers to ensure adherence to specifications.
- Participate in quality inspection activities.
- Prepare and maintain detailed test and service reports.
- Work with voltages ranging from 480VAC to 13,800VAC, occasionally up to 35kV, and assist in medium and high-voltage testing.
- Two-year technical degree in electronics, electrical engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Minimum of 2 years of test and troubleshooting experience in industrial electronics or power electronics preferred.
- Familiarity with reactor and transformer applications, single-phase and three-phase AC power, AC/DC rectification, and SCR (Thyristor) control.
- Experience in testing and calibrating industrial power equipment.
- Strong proficiency in reading electronic schematics and understanding specifications.
- Hands-on experience with industrial instrumentation, including electro-mechanical meters and gauges.
- Knowledge of PLC programming (software and hardware) and the ability to make PLC adjustments is a plus.
- Electrician (E-2) certification is advantageous.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient with computer applications, including spreadsheets, word processing, and customized data acquisition software.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly and stand for approximately 95% of the workday.
- Ability to bend, squat, stoop, and kneel as needed throughout the day.
- Comfortable working with and hooking up large cables.
- Must have unrestricted authorization to work in the United States.
