About the Job
The Test Manager will be responsible for overseeing the entire testing process for a given business segment, ensuring that all software products meet the highest standards of quality and reliability as well as developing and implementing test strategies, managing test teams, and ensuring that all testing activities are completed on time and within budget.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Manage software testing activities for systems implementation and O&M software development projects.
- Assign and monitor the tasks assigned to manual and automation test resource.
- Procure and manage the testing environments for application product, systems integration, regression and trading partner testing for systems implementation.
- Estimate the testing level of efforts for new projects and client requests.
- Set 100 day and annual goals for the team members and evaluate the performance once quarterly.
- Establish standard testing practices for create test scenarios, test scripts and test data definition.
- Prepare and design test automation strategy, test scripts and test cases.
- Manage the test automation activities for a release, support UAT and production support.
- Mentor test automation team members.
- Involvement in the selection and maintenance of the Test Automation tool suite.
Project Specific Responsibilites:
- Develop and implement comprehensive test strategies and plans.
- Manage and lead a team of test engineers and QA professionals within a designated business segment.
- Ensure all software products meet quality standards and requirements.
- Oversee the execution of test cases and the reporting of defects.
- Identify and mitigate escalated risks related to testing activities.
- Continuously improve testing processes and methodologies.
- Ensure all testing activities are completed on time and within budget.
- Mentor and develop team members to enhance their skills and performance.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of testing activities.
- Manage test environments and ensure they are properly configured and maintained.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory and industry standards.
- Work with department lead to coordinate with external vendors and partners as needed.
- Work with department leads to participate in project planning and estimation activities.
- Manage daily, weekly communication on testing status to internal and external project stakeholders
- Point of escalation for quality for a given business segment
- Identify and approach problem and draw valid solutions to mitigate.
- Coordinate with development teams to understand project requirements and timelines.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends and best practices.
- Conduct performance reviews and provide feedback to team members.
- Ensure effective communication and collaboration within the team and with other departments
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor's degree and 5-7 years of relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
- Manages, perhaps through subordinate supervisors, the coordination of the activities of a section or department with responsibility for results, including costs, methods and staffing.
- In some instances this manager may be responsible for a functional area and not have any subordinate employees.
- Works on issues of diverse scope where analysis of situation or data requires evaluation of a variety of factors, including an understanding of current business trends.
- Follows processes and operational policies in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions.
- Acts as advisor to subordinate(s) to meet schedules and/or resolve problems.
- Develops and administers schedules, performance requirements; may have budget responsibilities.
- Frequently interacts with subordinate employees, customers, and/or functional peer group managers, normally involving matters between functional areas, other company divisions or units, or customers and the company.
- Often must lead a cooperative effort among members of a project team.
- Receives assignments in the form of objectives and determines how to use resources to meet schedules and goals.
- Provides guidance to subordinates within the latitude of established company policies.
- Recommends changes to policies and establishes procedures that affect immediate organization(s).
Project Specific Requirements:
- Five years or more experience as a Test Manager
- Deep understanding of various testing methodologies, excellent leadership skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional team
- Proven track record of managing complex testing projects, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. In this role, you will be expected to stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends and best practices, continuously improve testing processes, and mentor and develop team members.
- Proven experience in managing and leading test teams.
- Strong understanding of various testing methodologies and tools.

- Experience with Agile and Scrum methodologies.

- Ability to mentor and develop team members.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines

Pay Transparency
Maximus compensation is based on various factors including but not limited to job location, a candidate's education, training, experience, expected quality and quantity of work, required travel (if any), external market and internal value analysis including seniority and merit systems, as well as internal pay alignment. Annual salary is just one component of Maximus's total compensation package. Other rewards may include short- and long-term incentives as well as program-specific awards. Additionally, Maximus provides a variety of benefits to employees, including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, a retirement savings plan, paid holidays and paid time off. Compensation ranges may differ based on contract value but will be commensurate with job duties and relevant work experience.
