Summary
The Test Engineering Manager will be responsible for supporting successful attainment of all program cost, schedule, and technical performance objectives.
The right candidate must be comfortable within a rapid development environment and with the transition to production; able to execute within short timelines and a given budget. Attention to detail, strong interpersonal skills, ability to multitask, good organizational skills, computer literacy, and a demonstrated ability to thrive in a team environment.
Job Duties
- Providing staffing with the appropriate training/skill/knowledge base
- Addressing staffing requests and performance adjustments
- Handling day-to-day test operations including program priorities, work schedules, tools, workload planning, task monitoring, issue resolution, etc.
- Other special assignments, including but not limited to leadership of capital projects, transitioning new products to production, and proposal/business capture support.
- Cultivating talent in personnel as well as instilling process and discipline.
Qualifications
- A Master's Degree in electrical engineering or a similar field is required, but Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field with experience can be considered in lieu.
- Minimum of 5 years in a personnel management or engineer/project manager capacity is required.
- In-depth understanding of test of DFB, VSCEL, 100G, 400G Transceiver, and RF is required.
- Experience transitioning technologies from development (mid-TRL) into production is preferred.
- Experience with production flow implementation and optimization, design-for-manufacturability and/or design-for-test is preferred.
- Familiarity with test engineering concepts and experience with development of test plans & requirements is required.
- Experience leading the implementation of new manufacturing processes, special test equipment & tooling, or automation (including test automation) is required.
- Lean / Six Sigma Certifications and/or experience is a plus.
- Previous experience with LabVIEW, Python, PLC is required, C++ and VisualBasic are good to have.
