Overview
Bowhead seeks a Mid-Level Test Engineer to join our team supporting the Program Office for Logistics Integrated Information Systems – Marine Corps (LI2S-MC) in Stafford, VA. The Test Engineer will work directly with the client analyzing complex and unique technical support assignments and lead or collaborate with engineers, cybersecurity personnel, logisticians, and program analysts within a scaled agile environment.
The Test Engineer will design, develop, and implement testing methods and equipment.
They will also plan and arrange the labor, schedules, and equipment required for testing and evaluating standard and special devices and provide test areas with parameters for sample testing and specifies tests to be performed. They will compile data and defines changes required in testing equipment, testing procedures, manufacturing processes, or new testing requirements.
Responsibilities
• Support test engineering in an Agile construct.
• Perform monitoring and oversight during sprints.
• Assist in defining of acceptance criteria, ensure the quality of the developed product, and the delivery process.
• Maintain test logs and evaluate results.
• Provide technical support for engineering testing activities.
• Tasks may include: Oversight of technical efforts to ensure project testing objectives are being met in a timely fashion, evaluate proposed designs to ensure technical merit in meeting project requirements. Planning and execution of systems engineering technical processes and technical management processes - including decision analysis, technical planning, technical assessment, requirements management, risk management, configuration management, technical data management, and interface management.
• Assist in the planning and execution of system testing events and tracking the completion of action items.
• Provide systems engineering expertise in testing methodologies in enterprise level environments.
Qualifications
• BA/BS degree from an accredited college or university; MA/MS degree preferred.
• Four (4) to ten (10) years of professional experience
• Knowledge and understanding of enterprise systems and services technologies to include large scale systems and OS, software and applications, AD, SAN/WAN technologies, Windows Server environments, Server Virtualization, Commercial Cloud Services.
• Experience with Navy or Marine Corps programs preferred.
• Proven ability to work on high visible or mission critical aspects of a given program and performs all functional duties independently.
• Ability to manage the efforts of less senior staff and/or be responsible for the efforts of all staff assigned to a specific task.
• Intermediate to advanced level skills in Microsoft Office software suite - Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint.
• Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees, Government personnel, and other stakeholders.
• Strong interpersonal skills, good judgment, and the ability to lead a team or perform independently.
SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS: The successful candidate must favorably pass a T-1/NACI investigation. Candidates with an in-scope DoD security clearance are highly encouraged to apply. US Citizenship is required.
