This role will support Vehicle Dynamics Controls engineering test and development activities for Automotive Braking Systems.
Responsibilities
- Lead and support the engineering test activities by applying engineering principles, experiences and various analysis tools in following established test plans/procedures to test parts/components in area of specialty to determine design feasibility and ensure parts/components meet design acceptance criteria, performance level targets and any applicable regulatory/internal standards.
- Writing hardware and software specifications
- Depending on functional area, have to perform objective and subjective testing by driving.
- Utilize data acquisition tools to collect data, analyze and report results.
- Conduct vehicle benchmarking for the purpose of target setting.
- Instrument vehicles for objective tests, conduct vehicle testing on actual car and simulator.
- Analyze and resolve problems with moderate level of guidance and direction.
- Negotiate with other departments internally and suppliers externally to meet the spec requirements.
- Coordinate with design and CAE teams to report results and develop countermeasures.
- Search new ways to increase overall efficiency, utilize up-to-date technology.
- Travel to client / test sites required.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical or Automotive Engineering and 3+ yrs relevant industry experience.
- Strong knowledge of electrical hardware and software development required.
- Interest in the automotive field and experience with Hands-on Bench/Vehicle testing using electronic measuring equipment and electrical troubleshooting desired.
- Knowledge of and experience with CAN communication networks and related tools (Vector CAN Tools, CANoe, CANalyzer, etc) is required.
- Knowledge and experience with electrical testing equipment (Oscilloscopes, Multimeters, etc)
- Ability to make wiring harnesses to support with test setups
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in MS office.
- Valid driver's license.
