JOB SUMMARY:
The Test Engineer will support programs in testing vehicles and parts/components, performing configuration changes and repairs of test systems, and following appropriate engineering procedures, standards, and specifications. This role may also provide support in the design, fabrication and assembly of test fixtures and wiring of related systems/sub-systems. The objective is to validate new product designs as part of new product development as well as resolve issues on sustaining products. The Engineer is expected to provide exemplary technical support to the customers of Oshkosh Corporation and Corporate Software.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
These duties are not meant to be all-inclusive and other duties may be assigned.
Develop test cases for prototype and current products to determine capabilities of
vehicles/systems and conformance to specifications and/or regulations in partnership with
engineers.
Conduct testing of prototypes and current products to determine capabilities of
vehicles/systems and conformance to specifications and/or regulations in partnership with
engineers and senior level technicians.
Test and record data using operational knowledge of vehicle systems (CAN, electrical
I/O, electrical pneumatic). Troubleshoot systems, perform failure analysis, and follow
detailed test procedures.
Assemble, disassemble, and fabricate complex/customized parts, mechanical structures
and test stands/fixtures in partnership with engineers and senior level technicians.
Maintain a safe work environment, adhere to all safety procedures during all aspects of
job performance which includes regular exposure to personal and physical hazards.
Operate heavy equipment/machinery or drive vehicles as required for the purposes of
testing or material handling.
Determine appropriate test instruments for product testing.
Plan and schedule daily activities to complete assignments in their order of priority to
make effective use of time and ensure projects are being completed within identified
timeline.
Communicate effectively and work cross functionally to resolve technical problems
including the ability to provide constructive feedback to all levels of the organization.
Interpret and execute written/verbal directions and instructions.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education - bachelor s degree in computer engineering, Software Engineering, Electrical
Engineering or equivalent 2 or more years of Experience in Quality Assurance,
Engineering and Test plan creation/execution/automation.
Oshkosh Corporation Classification - Restricted
Experience with validation of system requirements that adhere to Software Quality
Assurance (SQA) standards.
Experience in programming languages such as C++, Python, or LabVIEW.
Ability to travel 20%.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience testing high scale automotive or heavy-duty vehicle industry.
Commercial Drivers License (CDL)
Experience with using SQL query language to build and use queries for testing and data
preparation purposes.
Knowledge and experience with automation tools/frameworks designed to support and
ensure QA principles.
Knowledge of HV and BEV systems, design, and industry practices.
Knowledge of CAN communication and J1939.
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
Knowledge of automotive and mechanical terms.
A Commercial Driver s License (CDL) or a Telehandler and AWP operator license.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance
instructions, government regulations and procedure manuals.
Ability to adapt to a fast-paced environment

Vehicle Testing: Emphasis on vehicle/system testing over scripting experience.
General Electrical System and Software Response: Desired for vehicle testing roles.
US Citizenship: Mandatory for those involved in defense projects.

Experience with general electrical systems on vehicles is valued.
Travel: Roles may require occasional travel, including to Tennessee.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Computer/Electrical Engineering.
Experience with system validation.
