Nature and Scope of Job
USDM is seeking a System Integration Test Engineer to support all phases of hardware and software integration research and testing throughout the life cycle of a product.
Primary Responsibilities

- Develop custom software and/or use existing software to perform Integration test and measurement activities defined below.

- Provide early feedback to development team (systems engineers, software architects & engineers, etc.) on robustness of system components and their interoperability as they are integrated.

- Perform hardware and software integration and informal verification activities

- ‘White Box’ intrusive testing.

- ‘Black Box’ verification testing.

- Debug and characterize defects, providing detailed configuration and descriptions for passing and failing tests for product evaluation reports.

- Exploratory system testing.

- Automation of software and hardware verification.

- Analyze test results to ensure existing functionality and recommend corrective action.

- Consult with system and development engineers in resolution of problems.

- Help develop verification test plans.

- Provide Software Quality Metrics.

- Performance metrics (CPU utilization, memory usage, etc.)

- Quality metrics (bugs/release, static analysis warnings, etc.)

- Support Bench-(alpha) and Market Acceptance (Beta) testing by providing and/or updating equipment, test automation, methodologies, etc. required for integration testing.

- Work with and assist teammates, as well as on-boarding and training Student Interns.

- Assists product development engineers in the diagnosis and replication of product failures.

- Participate in all efforts in the testing and regression testing of new devices being developed, software phase releases for existing products, etc.

Qualifications

- Must have strong analytical skills and good technical report writing skills.

- Must have good interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.

- Experience with object-oriented methods and languages: C++, C#, Java, etc.

- Experience with Python programing language (preferred).

- Knowledge of Windows, Linux operating systems.

- Familiarity with internet technologies, communication protocols, networking, network security, and related technologies.

- Experience with Software, Hardware and Firmware Systems Integration and testing.

- Self-motivated and able to produce high quality work alone or within a team.
Education & Certifications

- BS in Computer Science, Electrical Computer Engineering, or related field with 2-5 years experience in engineering/development.

- MS in Computer Science, Electrical Computer Engineering or related field with 0-2 years experience in engineering/development.

Compensation
Salary/Hourly Rate Range (W2): USD 40.00 – 50.00
The base salary/hourly rate range represents the anticipated low and high end of the USDM’s compensation range for this position. Actual salaries/hourly rates will vary and will be based on various factors, such as candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies, and proficiency for the role. The compensation described above is subject to change and could be higher or lower than the range described based on market survey data or budget.
Full-time employees are eligible for health, vision, and dental insurance, life insurance, short and long-term disability, hospital indemnity, accident, and critical care coverage.
Both full and part time employees, who are at least 21 years of age, are eligible to participate in USDM's 401k plan. Full and part time employees may be eligible for paid time off.
