About the Job
We are seeking a Test Engineer to join our team in Girard, Ohio. Reporting to the Lead Test Engineer, the Test Engineer will play a key role in developing a robust, long-term test process for circuit board production including intermediate testing and ICT systems. This role also includes test systems for final functional testing of finished products, harness testing, and ignition coil testing systems. These processes will be integrated into the manufacturing workflow to enhance production efficiency, accuracy, and cost-effectiveness. The ideal candidate will collaborate with the team to design PCB test systems and other product related test systems that detect errors earlier in the production process ensuring issues are identified and corrected before the product reaches the customer.
Main Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain test plans, methodologies, and processes for industrial high-reliability electronic products.
- Specify and design automated test equipment and systems.
- Write and maintain test programs for automated test equipment (ATE).
- Define and procure automated test fixtures.
- Develop and maintain detailed test procedures.
- Integrate in-system testing into lean production cells.
- Support the transition from QC testing to in-line testing.
- Test and validate new process techniques and technologies for manufacturing.
- Define and implement validation test strategies and processes.
- Develop test processes and equipment for final product testing.
- Design electronic hardware and software for custom functional test equipment.
- Design test fixtures and mechanical interfaces for testing.
- Perform measurement systems analysis (MSA).
- Assist in developing test processes and equipment for products returned under warranty.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering.
- At least 2 years of experience in electronics manufacturing and testing.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across all levels of the organization.
- Experience with ATE design and implementation.
- Knowledge of Quality Management Systems, such as ISO 9001.
- Experience developing and maintaining technical documentation.
- Strong understanding of electronic test equipment and prototyping/testing techniques for power electronic systems.
- Familiarity with automated test systems (ATE, ICT, AOI).
- Understanding of electronics production systems and test equipment.
- Experience with test system software and hardware integration.
- Working knowledge of LabVIEW and TestStand.
- Experience in researching and testing new software and hardware tools in the areas of system testing and Data analysis.
