About the Job
The range of responsibilities includes • Answer telephone calls, refer urgent calls to the nurse or physician, and message physicians/staff electronically • Prepare invoices for patients and coordinate specialist consults for patients • Order office supplies as needed • Fax repeat prescriptions to pharmacies • Provide general clinical administration support to physicians • Manage patient schedules for physicians and allied professionals • Provide administrative support to the Family Physician-in-Chief • Correspondence – receiving, sorting and distributing all incoming and outgoing correspondence • Prepare new patient charts, filing of medical information and inpatient charts. | |
Job Requirements:
Qualifications
- Medial Secretary or Business Administration Diploma from a recognized program
- Strong computer skills to support development of expertise with electronic medical record required.
- Knowledge of the administrative use of electronic medical record preferred.
- 2 years recent experience in a clinic/health environment
- Good knowledge of medical terminology
- Solid experience with all aspects of billing (Including submission, reconciliation, disbursals) preferred.
- Proficiency with Microsoft (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Access and Outlook)
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients, colleagues and medical professionals.
- Demonstrated capacity to work independently
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Excellent organizational and multi-tasking skills.
- Excellent time management,organizational and self planning skills displaying flexibility by adjusting work schedules according to changing priorities, meeting demanding deadlines and producing high qaulitywork
