INDUS supports the planning, coordination, and installation activities of Command, Control, Communications, Computer, Combat Systems and Intelligence (C5I) Systems in Aircraft Carriers, other Strike Group or Strike Force units, and Amphibious Ships including but not limited to LHA, LHD, LPD, and other L-Class units. Our team is directly responsible for supporting the planning, budgeting, and execution of New Construction (SCN) and In-service Fleet Aircraft Carrier and Amphibious Ship testing and modernization efforts in support of the Modernization and Installation Department (N Department), Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWC), Port Hueneme Division (PHD).
Reporting to the Program Manager, the Test Developer is responsible for developing and coordinating all testing, documentation, and training for the Combat Systems employed on Aircraft Carriers and Amphibious Ships for Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWC), Port Hueneme Division (PHD), Modernization and Installation Department (N Department), in support of the CVN/L-Class In-Service Engineering Agent (ISEA) Support Services contract. This position is located on board NSWC PHD in Port Hueneme, CA.
What You'll Do:- Verify and validate applicable Combat Systems documentation onboard CVN and L-Class ships during an availability period.
- Collaborate with Subject Matter Experts to update Combat Systems documentation.
- Participate in cross-functional product teams in support of Combat Systems documentation development efforts.
- Prepare formal reports and brief to stakeholders and senior leaders.
- Bid and proposal support if requested.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
- An active secret clearance is required to be considered for this position.
- HS Diploma required.
- Five (5) years of experience providing combat systems engineering and integration support on amphibious ships.
- Must have experience with standard Combat Systems Engineering principles, theories, concepts, techniques, and systems integration aboard U.S. Navy Ships.
- Knowledge and experience of Aircraft Carrier and Amphibious Ship Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Combat, and Intelligence (C5I) Systems, installation process, and associated test procedures.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively plan workload and meet established deadlines.
- Must be proficient with Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat.
- Ability to work independently on projects and as part of a group when needed.
- The individual must be able to clearly and concisely articulate technical subject matter both written and verbally.
- Must possess basic computer literacy and data entry skills.
- Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (to include MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated problem-solving skills.
- Must possess strong time management skills.
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced, changing, and challenging environment.
- Must be able to remain seated in a stationary position 50% of the time. Must also be able to alternate between sitting, standing, and walking.
- Travel Required ~10% travel required.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future.
Desired Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Science or related technical discipline is highly desired OR 10 total years of demonstrated technical experience may be substituted in lieu of a degree.
- Prior U.S. Navy and/or Marine Corps related experience is desired.
- The ideal candidate would possess Ship Self Defense System (SSDS) and Combat Systems related element knowledge
INDUS aims to provide a competitive compensation package, including a strong pay for performance rewards approach. The expected base pay range for this position is $70,000. – $95,000. This position is eligible to participate in our corporate 401(k) and Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP) programs, and may be eligible for performance bonuses, and other rewards and benefits (see more about our compensation package and benefits offered at Culture @ INDUS | INDUS Technology). The pay range for this role considers job-related knowledge, skills, work location, education and training, and certifications.
