Description
The Territory Sales Manager for the Countertop Division will represent VT Industries in a positive business-like manner within the assigned territory with customers, architects, building owners, and industry influencers to achieve business objectives, meet sales plans, and increase market share. The region encompasses Florida, Alabama, Georgia, and Tennessee, with possible future expansion. Essential responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Gain a solid understanding of all countertop options offered by VT and promote and sell to an existing fabricator base while continually building customer relationships.
- Grow market share by prospecting for new customers and opportunities, primarily, but not limited to the following: millwork and cabinet shops, fabricators, lumber yards, distributors, design build developers/contractors (multi/single family), flooring dealers, property management companies, and kitchen/bath retail stores.
- Develop a business plan for area of responsibility that is consistent with long-range company objectives.
- Schedule and perform product demonstrations with current and potential customers.
- Follow industry trends to identify new opportunities for potential sales.
- Recommend marketing and sales strategies to target a specific region.
- Meet or exceed monthly and annual sales plans.
- Understand business and customer needs to help resolve product claims as they arise.
- Use CRM system to log customer interactions, needs, new account creation, pricing, etc.
- Utilize marketing material to enhance sales.
- Participate in team meetings and regional and national trade shows as needed.
- Travel requirements vary based on territory needs but are typically around 40% to 60%, with the remaining time spent working out of a home office.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- 1-3 years of inside and/or outside sales experience in building products industry
- Skilled in negotiation, organization, time management, problem solving and consultative selling skills, as well as cross functional interactions with other internal departments.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent computer skills and adept at using Excel, Power Point, Word, and Microsoft Office, and Power BI
- Knowledge of architectural specifications, building and woodworking industry, preferred.
- Valid driver’s license with clean driving record
- Bilingual (Spanish/English) candidates preferred
- College degree preferred
