Role Summary:
Under the general direction of and reporting to the Director of Sales, the main objective of the Territory Manager is to develop and execute marketing and sales plans to execute strategic sales plans to commercial strategic partners.
Essential Responsibilities:
+ The growth in sales, market share and profit of a given geographic territory and account responsibility.
+ Present account specific programs and promotions to commercial distribution/end users.
+ Support and work at National shows in your region/nationwide to sell product, build relationships, and create demand.
+ Support promotional activity with commercial partners.
+ Commercial business specific responsibilities:
+ Develop, engage, and close regional account end users, creating pull through sales with our commercial distribution channel.
+ Create strategic local partnerships with commercial end user groups and DSR’s within district to drive demand.
+ Work with commercial sales managers to identify opportunities.
+ Work continuously to learn and implement the Hoover Consultative Sales Process in the development of his/her sales skills.
+ Develop goals and self-evaluate performance toward achieving those goals.
+ Develop primary knowledge of the marketplace (users, applications, products, competition, channels).
+ Providing feedback from the field related to:
+ Competition, end users, channels of distribution, applications, and products.
+ Effectiveness of policies and programs.
+ Physical Job Demands:
+ Regularly lift/push/pull/carry materials and floorcare machines weighing up to 25 pounds.
+ Occasionally lift floorcare machines up to 50 pounds.
+ Frequently set-up and operate displays of commercial equipment -- requiring use of hands, bending and/or kneeling and/or crouching, and/or stooping;
+ Travel: Up to 25% overnight travel may be required.
+ Will be expected to drive a car to and from customers
+ Key in computer data 4-6 hours/week;
+ Normal vision/peripheral vision required to safely operate powered hand tools and drive a vehicle;
+ Able to talk and hear effectively, read and write;
+ Provide trip reports for travel and other sales reports as requested.
+ Eligible for a sales bonus
Job/Employment Requirements:
+ Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in retail or field sales
+ 2+ years of experience in addition to the aforementioned educational requirement
+ Must have a valid United States driver’s license in your state of residence with at least one full year of driving experience.
+ Ability to pass a Motor Vehicle Report screening.
+ Employee will also be required to transport a small amount of company property (demo tools, tool kit, supplies).
+ Applicant must be MS Office proficient.
+ Applicant should be self-motivated and a team player with strong organizational, planning and time management skills.
+ Ability to work nights and weekends – Overnight travel may be required at times
+ Eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship or restrictions
Compensation and Benefits:
+ Salary Exempt Position (Not Overtime Eligible)
+ Annual Salary Range of $68,640 to $75,000
+ Performance based bonus program
+ Sales Contests and Incentives to Earn Additional Income (In Correlation with Business Needs / Focuses)
