Tenure Track Faculty Position: Piano or Voice
The Department of Music at Covenant College, an agency of the Presbyterian Church in America and an academically rigorous Christian college emphasizing the liberal arts in the Reformed and Presbyterian tradition, invites applications for a full-time, open-rank, tenure-track faculty position in piano or voice beginning July 1, 2025. Rank and compensation will be commensurate with experience.
The candidate who fills this position will be someone with a graduate-level background in piano or vocal performance and/or pedagogy who is capable of teaching a wide variety of undergraduate music courses.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Teach applied piano or voice lessons
- Teach two courses each semester in piano or vocal pedagogy or literature, and in other areas of expertise (e.g. musicianship, music history, music theory); teaching assignments may also include courses that contribute to the liberal arts core curriculum
- Advise and mentor students
- Serve as an advisor for Music Department Capstone projects
- Serve on rotating faculty committees
- Assist with departmental recruiting
Required Qualifications:
- Commitment to the mission of Covenant College
- Terminal degree in Music from a regionally-accredited institution by July 1, 2025 preferred. Candidates
with a Master's Degree in Music will also be considered. - Demonstrated excellence in teaching and performing.
- Interest in mentoring undergraduates.
