Job Details
Assist project staff with:
- Responding to RFPs and collecting trade costs for budgets and bids.
- Tracking schedules and providing weekly schedule updates.
- Monitoring cost control items and generating change estimates for project scope development.
- Creating solution-oriented RFIs, updating logs, and tracking responses with project staff.
- Reviewing and issuing submittals, tracking responses, and communicating actions to subcontractors.
- Maintaining long-lead tracking logs and prompting subcontractors for submittals and order updates.
- Delivering necessary documentation and updates to Superintendents for work execution, including subcontracts, current plans and specifications, permits, schedules, meeting minutes, change orders, bulletins, submittals, RFI responses, correspondence, job hazard and safety reports, required postings, project directories, and emergency contact info.
- Regularly visiting project sites to monitor status with project staff and subcontractors.
- Assisting project staff with preparing project close-out manuals for clients and building owners.
- Supporting clients and building owners with warranty claims.
Working Conditions & Physical Demands:
- The Project Engineer may spend extended periods sitting or standing while performing duties or interacting with coworkers and clients at meetings and events.
- Routine lifting and/or carrying of moderately heavy objects may be required, along with performing repetitive tasks in front of a computer screen, which may strain the eyes and cause discomfort. Caution should be exercised to avoid back injuries, eye strain, headaches, fatigue, carpal tunnel syndrome, and related issues.
- Regular visits to active construction sites necessitate caution, including the consistent use of appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times.
