Temporary Winter Maintenance or Grounds Worker - Capital University

About the Job
Under the supervision of an Associate Director, this position performs painting, grass repair, trim work, snow and ice removal, light maintenance to improve university facilities and equipment. The position is less than ¾ time during the first shift this winter from Dec 09,2024 to Mar 01,2025.
Responsibilities:
• Performs minor maintenance, repair, alteration to buildings, room painting and touch ups.
• Performs snow removal, grass restoration, edge repairs, exterior debris collection, and plant bed maintenance.
• Assists in the painting of vacated resident student housing and university facilities.
Qualifications:
• Knowledge and skills at a level normally acquired through the completion of a high school education or equivalency.
• No experience in maintenance or grounds is required.
• On the job training will be provided to include appropriate safety practices.
• Ability to perform tasks in room size spaces and residential lawns.
• Ability to handle exposure to: dirt, dust, snow and ice removal, and grease, electricity, and climatic weather. Equipment that has moving parts and loud noise.
• Physical Requirements: ability to lift 50 lbs. on a regular basis.
