About the Job
The Senior IT Project Manager is responsible for the successful delivery of large-scale, complex projects often involving multiple internal and external stakeholders through all phases of the SDLC. The Senior IT Project Manager helps set and follow clear project management standards including project plans, change controls, risk management, and other project management documents on given strategic initiatives. The Senior IT Project Manager assists in developing standards, managing the enterprise IT project priority list with IT Directors, and assists in IT Steering Committee meetings if needed. This position reports to the Director of IT Strategic Initiatives
Responsibilities:- Accountable for successful project delivery through active project management oversight.
- Leads cross functional teams delivering superior IT projects consisting of people, process, and technology that allows complete interaction with all impacted stakeholders, including internal business users and external providers.
- Develops project management plans in accordance with roadmaps which integrate the requirements and activities addressing the management of project scope, schedule, cost, quality, human resources, communications, risk, and procurement.
- Defines, documents, and tracks project milestones while developing, maintaining, and reporting on an overall integrated delivery plan with IT and Business Units.
- Consistent reporting on the status of the critical path, consumed slack and/or EV and ROI
- Rigorously manages scope to ensure commitments are achieved within agreed upon time, cost, and quality parameters
- Builds an environment of trust and open information. Sharing lessons learned, perceptions, and best practices openly with the teams.
- Communicates clearly with internal and vendor teams in multiple diverse locations, ensuring that strategic and tactical deliverables are understood.
- Regularly conducts postmortems on capability delivery and ensure that the team learns from mistakes as well as victories.
- Develops and maintains risk management plan addressing opportunities, best practices, risks, and issues or threats
- Documents, monitors and manages the project risks. Assesses the impact of new or
increased risks and develop remediation’s and/or mitigation plans. - Works with various teams/disciplines to ensure release readiness and quality deployments.
- Facilitates Project Steering Committee meetings and stakeholder’s meetings.
SECONDARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Participate in special projects, assignments, and other tasks as needed.
Education and Experience | Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Engineering, or relevant field and at least five (5) years of relevant project management experience required. In lieu of a degree, a minimum of eight (8) years of relevant experience to include a minimum of five (5) years project management experience will be considered. Particular emphasis on waterfall and iterative software development methodologies. Experience managing multiple complex projects with teams of 10 or more. Experience in health plan environment preferred.

Special Skills, Licenses and Certifications | Project Management Professional (PMP) or Educational Class Based Project Certification preferred. Strong project management skills, including the ability to create project plans, prioritize work, and meet deadlines. Required Proficiency in MS Office suite of applications MS Project, MS Office Suite and SharePoint. Oher applications such as Visio, Workfront and Jira are preferred, however not required. Valid California driver’s license and proof of current automobile insurance compliant with Partnership policy are required to operate a vehicle and travel for company business.

Work Environment And Physical Demands | Ability to use a computer keyboard. More than 50% of work time is spent in front of a computer monitor. Must be able to lift, carry, or move objects of varying size, weighing up to 10 lbs.

HIRING RANGE:
$50.00/hour - $63.00/hour
