Uses skills as a seasoned, experienced professional with a full understanding of industry practices and organizational policies and procedures; resolves a wide range of issues in imaginative as well as practical ways. Works on problems of diverse scope where analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors. Demonstrates good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions. Contacts are both internal and external to the department.
Job Duties:
- Provides analytical support for complex budget, financial, or resource analysis projects. Analyze spending trends against budgets and provides analyses to those responsible for planning. Performs cost saving analyses and provides recommendations to ensure the maximizing of funds.
- Develop timely, relevant and accurate financial reports and operational statement such as KPIs and other exhibits, such as financial dashboards to provide management with appropriate information regarding the financial condition and results of operations
- Foundation Fund Management: Manage all gift administration activities to ensure appropriateness of gifts and ensure that SOM Foundation and Gift Administration policies are followed. Maintain summary sheets for each foundation fund.
- Analyze current Foundation Fund portfolio to determine efficiencies and potential for appropriate spend-down of funds or transfer of funds to department(s)
- Process all required Monetary Transfer of Funds (MTFs) and maintain all records on gift transmittals.
- Serve as backup payroll processor: Enter and maintain all required payroll information including Decision Support Systems (DSS) salary worksheets Work includes, but is not limited to, monthly and bi-weekly payroll.
- Monitor and alter, as necessary, given changes in budget and fund sources including grant and contract funding cycles. Review entries on ongoing basis to verify accuracy.

This role pays at a non-negotiable rate of $36.88/hour
Required:
- Candidate must be located in Southern California
- 3-5 years Financial experience in healthcare required
- 1-3 years Relevant Experience or combination of experience and education
- 1-3 years Fund management experience
- 1-3 years Contracts and grants experience
- Thorough knowledge of finance policies, practices, and systems.
- Ability to independently gather required information to organize, and perform financial analysis assignments.
- Proven ability to effectively present information verbally and in writing in a clear and concise manner.
- Proven ability using spreadsheet and database software for complex financial analysis, fiscal management, and financial reports.
- Proven interpersonal skills with peers throughout the organization; strong service orientation and critical thinking skills; and attention to detail. Proven ability using organizational skills to multi-task in a high volume environment.
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities.
- Ability to function as a member of a team.
- Thorough knowledge and understanding of internal control practices and their impact on protecting University resources.
- Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training

TEMPORARY EMPLOYMENT
This is a temporary employment recruitment reporting to the UCI Temporary Employment Services (TES) Department. Interviewing and hiring is based on internal hiring needs and how well the candidate's experience matches the assignment requirements. Certain temporary assignments may require clearance of a health physical or require a valid California Driver’s License for driving university vehicles.
The majority of our temporary positions are Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. We also have occasional part-time, weekend, and evening hours available, depending on the assignment.
