Salary Range: $15.00 per hour minimum, plus tips
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Position Summary: This position prepares alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages to patrons requesting either in the restaurant or during a banquet or special event.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Enthusiastically greets patrons to create an exciting, fun environment.
- Presents drink or food menus to patrons and answer questions about menu items, making recommendations upon request.
- Takes beverage orders from serving staff or directly from patrons.
- Serves snacks or food items to customers seated at the bar.
- Collects money for drinks or food served.
- Checks identification of customers to verify age requirements for purchase of alcohol.
- Balances cash receipts.
- Attempts to limit problems and liability related to customers' excessive drinking by taking steps such as persuading customers to stop drinking, or ordering taxis or other transportation for intoxicated patrons.
- Mixes ingredients, such as liquor, soda, water, sugar, and bitters, prepares cocktails and other drinks.
- Prepares appetizers such as pickles, cheese, and cold meats.
- Slices and pits fruit for garnishing drinks.
- Cleans glasses, utensils, and bar equipment.
- Serves mixed drinks, wine, and bottled or draft beer.
- Continually cleans bars, work areas, and tables.
- Provides ideas for and feedback on bar menus to management team.
- Orders or requisitions liquors and supplies.
- Arranges bottles and glasses to make attractive displays.
- Performs additional duties, although not detailed, as requested by a manager at any time.

Language Abilities
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations, to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
Math Abilities
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent, and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Job Skills & Knowledge, continued
- Knowledge of Arizona State and Gila River Indian Community Liquor Laws.
- Must possess Basic Level Alcohol Service Training Certification.
- Computer skills in the use of POS equipment.
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand for an entire shift or extended period of time; walk; use hands and fingers to handle, or feel; execute repetitive motions of the wrists, hands and fingers; reach with hands and arms; and talk and hear. The employee occasionally is required to sit; and bend, stoop, lift, shake, stir, pour, carry, push, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The
employee must regularly lift and/or move 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. The employee will be required to wash hands often; and will be required to have frequent contact/immersion of hands in water, sanitation solutions.
Must maintain a neat, clean, well-groomed appearance and adhere to Rawhide dress code at all times.
Working Conditions
The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. Work is generally performed in the kitchen area with exposure to heat, fumes and steam. The noise level is moderate to high. The employee may be exposed to slippery conditions.
