NDDOT Starting Salary:  $18.72 per hour

This temporary position is a seasonal unbenefited position.

Summary of Work

Are you a tech-savvy individual who loves working outdoors? Do you have a passion for construction and engineering? Then we want you to join our team as a Construction Technician/Engineering Technician!

As our new team member, you will be responsible for conducting field inspections for all types of construction projects, ensuring compliance with plans, specifications, and contract documents. You'll get to work with cutting-edge equipment like Robotic Total Station and GPS, and use Microstation and Geopack programs to measure, calculate, and print reports and cross-sections. You'll also get to perform daily tests and prepare forms for all types of projects to ensure materials are within NDDOT specifications.

But that's not all! You'll have the opportunity to assist project engineers with checking and organizing project final records, as well as with district design work that requires the use of Microstation. And don't worry, we'll make sure you have all the necessary training and support to excel in these tasks.

Minimum Qualifications

You must have a high school diploma or GED equivalent and a basic understanding of the concepts needed for this type of work.  You will need to be able to work in all types of weather on a variety of uneven or slippery surfaces, have the ability to lift up to 50 pounds and carry several items with a total weight of 50 pounds, and have a valid North Dakota Class D driver’s license in order to travel to project locations.
