Contacts are both internal and external to the department.
Job Duties include, but are not limited to:
- Under the general direction of the Finance Director, the incumbent serves as a fiscal administrator by providing financial management, reports, and high-level analytical support.
- This role mainly supports the Institute’s clinical finances and payroll processes.
- Rebalancing payroll for 113 staff members including admin and clinical staff.
- Uses skills as a seasoned, experienced professional with a great understanding of industry practices and organizational policies and procedures; resolves a wide range of issues in imaginative as well as practical ways.
- Specific responsibilities include financial analysis and reporting on account-funds, budgeting, projections, month-end close functions, fiscal close functions, and updating salary worksheets.
- Assists in maintaining the financial stability of endowment and award sponsors funds in compliance with University policies and procedures and CAS guidelines pertaining to contract and grant management, purchasing, travel expense reimbursement, and personnel and payroll management.
- Works on problems of a diverse scope where analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors.
Position independently implements accounting and data management systems as well as an on-going interaction with all levels of university and agency faculty and staff.
- Completes month-end close processes, insuring solvency of Institute funding sources, for assigned account-funds.
- Manages clinical activities, salary worksheets, and other related responsibilities for the Institute.
- Clinical finance and payroll experience is highly preferred.

Pay Rate: $36.88/hr
Required:
- Clinical Finance and Payroll Experience is required.
- Microsoft Excel experience required: v look ups, spreadsheets, pivot tables, etc.
- Thorough knowledge of finance policies, practices, and systems.
- Ability to independently gather required information to organize, and perform financial analysis assignments.
- Proven ability to effectively present information verbally and in writing in a clear and concise manner.
- Proven ability using spreadsheet and database software for complex financial analysis, fiscal management, and financial reports.
- Proven interpersonal skills with peers throughout the organization; strong service orientation and critical thinking skills; and attention to detail. Proven ability using organizational skills to multi-task in a high volume environment.
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities.
- Ability to function as a member of a team.
- Thorough knowledge and understanding of internal control practices and their impact on protecting University resources.
- Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training
- 1-3 years Relevant Experience or combination of experience and education
- 1-3 years Fund management experience
- 1-3 years Contracts and grants experience

TEMPORARY EMPLOYMENT
This is a temporary employment recruitment reporting to the UCI Temporary Employment Services (TES) Department. Interviewing and hiring is based on internal hiring needs and how well the candidate's experience matches the assignment requirements. Certain temporary assignments may require clearance of a health physical or require a valid California Driver’s License for driving university vehicles.
The majority of our temporary positions are Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. We also have occasional part-time, weekend, and evening hours available, depending on the assignment.
