About the Job
Job Purpose:
Under general supervision, and in compliance with established policies and procedures, this position performs a broad variety of customer services and cross-selling of bank products and services. The CSR will perform assigned duties in accordance to Midstates Bank's Core Values and will adhere to the Quality Service Standards.
Essential Functions:
- Provide leadership to the CSR team through superior example and by implementing, executing and supporting all management-approved decisions.
- Assist in training new CSRs and provide guidance to staff as needed.
- Provides customer service to customers in person and via phone. Includes handling inquiries and problem solving for customers.
- Performs account transaction services to customers by receiving deposits; cashing checks, issuing withdrawals; processing night and mail deposits; selling cashier's checks and money orders; and redeeming US savings bonds.
- Cross-sells bank products by answering inquiries; informing customers of new services and product promotions; ascertaining customers' needs; directing customers to a branch representative.
- Completes special requests by taking orders for checks; providing special statements, copies, faxes, and referrals; completing safe-deposit box procedures; processing wire requests.
- Reconciles and manages cash drawer, vault, and ATM by counting and packaging currency and coins, ordering money, turning in excess cash and mutilated currency, and maintaining supply of cash and currency.
- Performs account opening and closing duties for consumer and business customers including checking, savings, CDs, HSAs, other product types; provides ongoing support of these products.
- Fulfills role of scheduling, teller overrides and coverage as needed in absence of CSR Manager.
- Assists in handling aged overdrafts, charge offs, and other reporting.
- Accepts and reviews consumer loan applications; interviews loan applicants; collects necessary financial data to process requests; communicates decisions and conducts closings with the borrower.
- Complies with bank operations and security procedures by participating in all dual-control functions.
- Maintains customer confidence and protects bank operations by keeping information confidential.
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
- Participate in civic activities to promote growth and development of the community and a positive image for the bank.
- Other duties as assigned.

Education: HS Diploma or equivalent
Experience: Previous banking experience strongly preferred. Cash handling experience; customer facing experience
