Job Summary and Qualifications

As a Telemetry Monitor Technician, your work is vital with monitoring patients’ heart performance and checking for any abnormalities, such as irregular heartbeats, arrhythmias, and cardiac arrest. Your position as a monitor tech, plays an important role in the care of patients and healthcare providers by consistently interpreting test results and reporting those results to the healthcare personnel team. • Explains the process of initiating Telemetry monitoring on a patient
• Confirms unit placement, telemetry box number, and patient identification with the staff member. Informs the staff member of the cardiac rhythm using 3 identifiers (Name, Box # and Room #)
• States the procedure for use of Telemetry boxes in the Critical care areas care areas

What qualifications you will need:

• Current BCLS
• Successful completion of arrhythmia interpretation class or demonstrated proficiency through testing
• Basic medical terminology class
• High School Diploma or equivalent
