About The Position
**Job Title:** Registered Nurse (RN) **Job Specialty:** Telemetry/Step Down **Job Duration:** 13 weeks **Shift:** Night shift, discussion with the manager to meet the needs of the unit **Guaranteed Hours:** 36 hours per week **Experience:** Minimum of one year of nursing experience **License:** Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse **Certifications:** - Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider certification - Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) **Must-Have:** - Nursing Diploma, AND/OR Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) from an accredited school - Demonstrated competence in the care of patients with complex problems **Job Description:** - Provides competent clinical nursing care consistent with professional standards. - Responsible for coordinating and delivering patient care utilizing the nursing process in a hospital setting. - Participates in identifying and meeting learning needs and attends educational programs. - Utilizes patient education materials relevant to patient population and assesses readiness to learn. - Identifies expected patient outcomes and seeks guidance as needed in revising the plan of care. - Collaborates with interdisciplinary team members in evaluating patient care. - Communicates relevant information to promote continuity of care. - Performs bedside point-of-care testing as required for patient care plans. - Organizes and prioritizes care according to patient and family needs. - Consults with appropriate resources promptly regarding patients with complex care issues. - Develops goals to promote professional growth and participates in unit goals and performance improvement activities. - Utilizes full range of communication as a means to convey planning and identifies cultural and ethnic issues in planning patient care. - Develops relationships with families to promote their ability to advocate for the patient. - Reads journals and brings ideas and questions for assessment of applicability. **Schedule Notes:** Days of the week will be discussed with the manager to meet the needs of the unit. If candidates request a set schedule, managers will review.
