Telecommunications Technician - AKKODIS

Akkodis is seeking a Telecommunications Technician for a Contract job with a client in Westfield, PA. The role requires proficiency in reading circuit diagrams and using advanced diagnostic tools, alongside coordinating with IT telecom engineers for site-specific installations.

 

Note: This is a travel role and coverage area will be From Westfield PA out to Schenectady NY. This is a field job that has virtually no in-office work required – At field offices/tower sites 80% and 20% HQ office.

 

Rate Range: $30/hour to $32/hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.

 

Telecommunications Technician job responsibilities include:

• Installing and maintaining telecommunications circuits such as phone, carrier, microwave, and wireless systems, ensuring proper operation and connectivity.

• Diagnosing and repairing issues using advanced test equipment and collaborating with IT telecom engineers for project planning and installation.

• Supporting various telecommunication systems like radio dispatch equipment, network devices, and remote terminal units in substations, ensuring their functionality.

• Assisting in the alignment, maintenance, and testing of power line carrier systems and providing technical input during project planning and execution.

• Coordinating with contractors and telecommunications carrier companies for circuit installations and service provision.

• Documenting communication circuits and equipment, meeting deadlines, and ensuring high levels of accuracy in all tasks.

 Desired Qualifications:

• Two-year degrees in telecommunications, data networking, or equivalent work experience. Alternatively, a minimum of two years of related, progressive work experience.

• Minimum of three years in telecommunications or a related voice and data communication field.

• Advanced knowledge of AC/DC systems and safety protocols for high voltage environments.

• Proficiency in testing voice and data circuits using meters, oscilloscopes, and other communication test equipment.

Pay Details: $30.00 to $32.00 per hour
