Telecommunications Field Technician at AKKODIS

Akkodis is seeking a Telecommunications Field Technician for a Contract job with a client in Lubbock, TX. The ideal candidate will have experience in telecommunications field verification and GIS data collection. This role requires walking up to 8 miles per day to verify network components, geotagging active and passive equipment, and providing field data in the GIS environment and PDFs to support internal network updates.

Rate Range: $23/hour to $25/hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.

Telecommunications Field Technician job responsibilities include:

• Field verifying the existing provider's network in the GIS online environment against current field conditions.

• Collecting and uploading field data daily, ensuring accurate documentation in both the GIS environment and PDF files.

• Geotagging active and passive components, identifying missing or misplaced equipment with photography.

• Dropping data points in the GIS environment for potential rear easements, construction obstacles, and key locations such as hospitals, schools, and banks.

• Participating in weekly production meetings and providing a production schedule with milestones tied to total mileage.

• Using GPS data collectors for field verification and maintaining detailed notes, comments, and revision mark-ups.

• Identifying and documenting non-identified branches in the network where no as-built documentation is available.

• Ensuring all collected data is accurate and contributes to updating the provider’s internal network systems.

 

Desired Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent; bachelor’s degree preferred.

• 2+ years of experience in telecommunications field verification and GIS data collection.

• Proficiency in using GPS data collectors and GIS software for field verification.

• Strong attention to detail, with experience in geotagging and photographing network components.

Pay Details: $23.00 to $25.00 per hour
