Job Title: Program and Project Management - Sr Strategic Project Manager
Job Description: Seeking an experienced Technology/IT/Telecom Project Manager (PM) who is driven, accountable, and a critical problem solver and has successfully managed medium to large sized Technology (IT) Projects. This Project Manager will be responsible for the successful project management and execution of a group of projects that will bring our field fleet of communications devices into a replacement lifecycle program in our Iowa and Wisconsin service territory. Projects include several units of equipment that have outlived their useful lives and need to be upgraded and documented.
Below are a sample of the projects this PM would be project managing.
- ASR Replacement
- ADTRAN Switch Lifecycle
- Cellular Modem Lifecycle
- Connected Grid Router Lifecycle
- Industrial Router Lifecycle
- Microwave Ring Upgrade
- Radio Console Backroom Core Replacement.
These projects will have a similar approach – select replacement equipment, receive quotes, create Purchase Orders/order equipment, document the locations and configurations, create install documentation, perform installation, turn up/go live, and then redline the filed documents for operational use. The teams involved will include vendors and engineering during selection, engineering and purchasing during the order process, engineering during the create documentation, and engineering and telecom field technicians during the install process. Tracking the project transitions and field installation progress will be critical to success in these efforts.
The ideal candidate will also have experience working with waterfall software implementation projects and will be able to leverage these experiences and rigor for this assignment.
This positing can be 100% remote, but the contractor must work the Central Time Zone hours of 8 AM - 5 PM.
JOB SUMMARY: Responsible for the successful initiation, planning, development, administration, risk management, implementation, control, and closure of single or multiple large sized projects across multiple business units through the Program and Project Management department.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Educational Requirements:
- Education Level Field of Study Required/Preferred Bachelor's Degree Preferred.
Required Certification:
- Certification Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification.
Required Experience:
- Minimum 5-8 years of experience in project management managing medium to large and complex Technology (IT) software or hardware/infrastructure projects.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Ability to analyze and solve problems of a moderate nature and implement an effective solution.
- Ability to organize large project plans and effectively document accordingly.
