At Kanaan Communications LLC , as a Drafter Designer, you’ll plot, map, design, and draft in CADD using the requirements for telecommunications networks and permits. What you’ll do as a Drafter Designer



+ Create new Outside Plant (OSP) network designs in various applications/software


+ Develop and issue work prints for OSP Telecom networks


+ Work with Engineering and Construction departments and coordinate with permitting agencies


+ Create documentation and reporting to support the work package, ie: bill of materials, labor quantities, etc.


+ Ensure facility designs follow company standards and comply with the requirements of local, state and federal regulations, which may include Rural Utilities Service (RUS)


+ Provide any documentation required for the cost-effective placement of communication facilities


+ Meet project deadlines and successfully complete tasks under tight timelines


+ Other duties as assigned








What you’ll need



+ To be 18 years of age or older


+ Authorization to work in the United States for this company


+ High School Diploma, GED equivalent, or at least three years of telecommunications OSP Design/Engineering Experience is required


+ Associate’s or Bachelor's Degree in a related field is preferred



Knowledge of



+ Telecommunications industry standards


+ Regulations for OSP facilities


+ Aerial, buried and underground construction methods and engineering requirements


+ Government permit requirements


+ OSP Communications Design systems


+ Applications such as NDS, FROGS, AutoCAD, Fireworks, Bidmaster, Infinium and/or Varasset


+ Fiber optic counts, fiber assignments and splicing schematics in a high-density fiber environment



Physical abilities & exposures



+ Routinely: Work alone in remote locations, use keyboard and mouse


+ Occasionally: Operate vehicle, climb stairs, stand, walk
