Telecom Assistant Project Manager - Colliers Engineering & Design

Colliers Engineering & Design is currently seeking an Assistant Project Manager to join our Telecom team in Fort Lauderdale, FL!

• Assist in preparation of proposals including project scope, schedule, and man-hour budgets.
• Act as point of contact for multiple small clients and grow relationships to ensure sustainable backlog. 
• Monitor time schedules and capital cost budgets on projects to satisfy client.
• Oversee the work and productivity on assigned projects.
• Strive to achieve predetermined goals for profit, productivity targets, and schedule of deliverables.
• Determine scope/fee and write proposal. 
• Negotiate with clients on any scope changes relative to project budgets and schedules subject to supervisor's approval.
• Review structural and/or A&E deliverables to ensure all project work is performed and completed in accordance with QA/QC standards, systems, and procedures as designated for project.
• Coordinate and communicate effectively with all employees involved in the projects to ensure high utilization rates (i.e. Project team meeting).
• Review monthly man-hour and cost reports to ensure projects are being completed at the pre-established goal.
• Assist with mentoring junior staff in learning sound technical and business practices and enhancing corporate objectives.
• Assist with the preparation and attendance for public hearings, meetings, and any other presentations related to his/her projects.
• Responsible for ordering subconsultant services and scheduling/coordinating field crews.
• Works efficiently with the billing department to authorize and transmit bills to client. Follow up with clients for timely payments.
• Adhere to health and safety program and all applicable SOPs.
• May oversee the activities of assigned staff, including but not limited to timesheet review and approval, performance evaluation and daily supervision.

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or related field is preferred.
• 7+ years of Telecom or Civil Engineering experience is preferred.
• PE license is preferred.
• Proficient with AutoCAD Civil 3D.
• Some storm water management/land development and electrical design experience is preferred. 
• Ability to travel to project sites and client meetings as needed.
• Ability to balance competing high priorities and adapt quickly in a dynamic environment.
• Maintain and build effective business relationships.
