The Park School is a Pre-K to Grade 8 independent school in Brookline, MA dedicated to excellence in education. The Technology Specialist is a 12-month position in the School’s technology department and reports to the Director of Institutional Technology. The ideal candidate will bring a history of collaborative and self-directed work. The ideal candidate will also have at least 2 years of experience working within schools and draw upon that understanding to support and anticipate the needs of The Park School community.
- Monitor and maintain school computers, iPads, Chromebooks, printers, displays
- Manage help desk requests via online ticketing system
- Provide tech support for a wide range of constituencies including faculty, staff, students, and parents
- Manage technology inventory
- Coordinate deployment and maintenance of Park’s iPad program
- Manage student device loaner program
- Assist with User Account(s) management and upkeep
- Interface with vendors and other third party service providers
- Coordinate the technology needs of the school’s summer programs
- Support ongoing one on one training and work sessions for faculty and staff
- Support for special events (AV and other presentation needs)
- Mastery of Mac and Windows client systems
- Experience with MDM systems (Mosyle)
- Experience with iPad and Chromebook environments
- Experience configuring and managing network hardware
- Experience with the Google Apps for Education suite
- Experience with Apple products, applications and systems
- Experience with printers, projectors and display systems
- Knowledge of current trends in educational technology
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Eager to learn new and complex technology
- Willing to pursue professional development opportunities
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- At least 2 years of experience in an academic setting, preferred
- The ability to sit and stand uninterrupted for 30-minute periods of time.
- The ability to traverse on and across variable surfaces (e.g. level flooring, stairs, turf, gravel, asphalt, etc.).
- The ability to position oneself (e.g., stand, sit, crouch, and kneel down) to support students.
- The ability to work outdoors, year-round, in variable weather conditions.
- The ability to lift and hold 15 lbs overhead.
- The ability to occasionally transport (e.g., move or drag) 25 lbs
- The ability to maintain focus and composure in an energetic and, at times, loud environment
- The ability to hold meetings in person and via supported video conference tools (i.e. Zoom or Google Meet)
- Proficient or the ability to learn Google tools and other applications as adopted by the school, such as Veracross, SchoolPass, Atlas etc.
