Field Service Representative - Lab
Job Summary - The Field Service Representative position is responsible for assisting operations to maintain the
chemistry needed for wastewater treatment via UF, MBR, Anaerobic Digestion processes.
Duties/Responsibilities
Prepare, organize, and maintain inspection records.
Complete testing of customer wastewater samples and throughout the process - Settleability, COD, VFA, TSS, ATP, Nitrogen, phosphorus and other common waste water tests
Perform calculations associated for the test results.
Perform jar tests to refine coagulant dosage
Enter samples, test results etc... into data management system, review and validate results.
Communicate status of testing samples to Supervisors and Laboratory staff.
Proficiency in performing manual titrations.
Knowledge of instrumental analysis.
Maintain housekeeping standards in laboratory work areas and store hazardous materials in the
proper locations and dispose of hazardous waste properly.
Work with Applications Laboratory personnel to investigate any analysis issues.
Operate equipment and follow procedures in accordance with ISO 9000.
standards.
Follows all safety procedures including general site safety rules and Chemical Hygiene Plan.
Inspect tanks using the appropriate method
Examine samples to verify qualities such as clarity, cleanliness, and consistency.
Maintain tank chemistry
Maintain waste treatment system
Maintain add schedule
Assist operators with concerns and troubleshoot.
Maintain logs of instrument readings, test results, shift production and/or preventive maintenance
schedule for entry in computer databases.
Maintain excellent chemical Hygiene and housekeeping in laboratory area.
Follow safety standards and rules
Train new operators as needed
The employer may require an employee to perform other duties as assigned on a temporary and
infrequent basis
Required Skills/Abilities
Good verbal and written communication skills, including engaging with customer
Speak, read, and write English preferred
Organized with great attention to detail.
Ability to operate laboratory testing equipment.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
High attention to detail
Able to work in a fast-paced environment
Thorough understanding of company quality specifications and manuals.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in
written, oral or diagram form.
Ability to deal with problems involving several variables in standardized situations.
Ability to create and maintain cooperative, team-building relationships.
Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure.
Basic calculations- mainly C1V1=C2V2,
Methodological approach to troubleshooting in the lab-
Adequate titrimetric, volumetric and gravimetric analysis experience
Ability to create standard curves on a UV/VIS spectrophotometer
Equipment operation- or at least competency to understand how the equipment
functions
Data interpretation, record keeping reporting and decision making
Inline analyzers familiarity
working knowledge of UV/VIS Spectrophotometers, HPLC Instrumentation, and pH
Meters
Working knowledge of gravimetric assays.
Working knowledge of computer and office software: Excel, MS Word

High School diploma or equivalent
Forklift license a plus
Experience working in Water Treatment and/or a Fast-paced work environment is a plus.
3 years of recent Lab experience required
Associates Degree in Chemistry or Biology preferred
