The Technology Coordinator will be responsible for providing responsive, collaborative, and forward-thinking leadership in managing technology systems and services that support the mission and goals of the school district. This includes the planning, development, implementation, management, and maintenance of applications, infrastructure, security, networks, technology training, and comprehensive support for teaching and learning activities for both staff and students.
Responsibilities:- Perform hardware/software upgrades to endpoint devices, infrastructure, operating systems, and applications.
- Provide rapid problem-solving and deliver fixes to desktop applications, workstations, or related devices in response to newly identified issues.
- Maintain communication between the Technology Infrastructure Supervisor and Network System Engineers regarding all network-related issues related to Local Area Network (LAN) and Wide Area Network (WAN) operations.
- Manage the configuration, troubleshooting, maintenance, and operation of Mobile Device Management (MDM) systems.
- Utilize available resources to automate tasks, maintenance, patching, and software installations.
- Research and recommend network hardware/software purchases, providing expertise and vision to identify the most cost-effective and robust solutions to meet the organization's needs.
- Participate in the management and maintenance of the virtual hosting environment.
- Assist with planning and maintaining technology finances and budgets.
- Manage organizational systems, including audio-visual systems.
- Communicate detailed information to staff about upcoming projects, outages, or system changes.
- Maintain documentation of network systems, operational procedures, network topology diagrams, and asset inventory.
- Work with Network System Engineers to assist in network design, future planning, and troubleshooting of higher-level network issues.
- Serve in an advisory role to other support personnel, assisting staff and users with problem resolution related to hardware, software, and communication issues.
- Maintain technical knowledge by attending relevant conferences, training sessions, webinars, and reviewing industry publications.
- Participate in software/hardware licensing tracking and purchasing.
- Maintain confidentiality regarding information being processed, stored, or accessed by the network.
- Provide training to member district technical staff as needed.
- Assume any other responsibilities as assigned by the Technology Infrastructure Supervisor or their designee.
- Assume any other responsibilities as assigned by the Executive Director or their designee.
- Associate's degree required.
- Certification in a technology field preferred.
- Minimum of five years of experience in a technology-related field required.
- In-depth knowledge of Windows Server environment, including Active Directory and Group Policy Management, preferred.
- Experience with Windows, Mac, and Chrome operating systems, preferred.
- Working knowledge of VMware or virtualization technologies, preferred.
- Previous experience implementing industry best practices for security and storage protocols, preferred.
- Previous experience with creating and managing a technology budget, preferred.
- Experience aligning technology solutions to meet the needs of the organization, preferred.
- Strong leadership and planning skills required.
