Title: Technician, Test Strip Manufacturing II - 2nd Shift

Job Summary / Key Objectives:
The Manufacturing Technician II is responsible for the support of the consumable test strips production line
Responsibilities include: maintaining automated process and packaging equipment used in the manufacturing of glucose test strips. This includes automated high-volume slitters and automated packaging equipment. Experience with automated vision inspection a plus. Duties include troubleshooting problems with the equipment, set-up, cleaning, and repair process equipment. The mechanic will also perform Preventative Maintenance (PM) and calibrations for process equipment. Included in the duties will be to assist in maintaining spare parts and tooling inventory. As well, the mechanic will assist in the start-up, set-up, debug and performance validation of various new manufacturing processes and equipment.

Other responsibilities include:
- Maintain, cleans, and repairs high volume process equipment on the daily basis
- Perform Preventative Maintenance per the maintenance schedule
- Assist in maintaining proper spare parts and tooling inventory
- May interface with vendors to seek solutions for equipment repairs and refurbishment
- Assist in performing required process capability studies, equipment installation qualification, and process validations
- Help train production personnel in proper operation of automated equipment
- Assist in the creation of the process and inspection criteria visual aids
- Encourage a clean and safe work environment
- Must have good written and verbal communication skills, documenting equipment status o management & others.
Qualifications/Skills and Competencies:
- Manufacturing background of medical devices in an automated /semi-automated environment a plus.
- Strong team-oriented individual who has a mechanical aptitude and the ability to learn quickly.
- Familiar with equipment like micrometers, voltmeters and calipers.
- Computer literate in Microsoft Word and Excel. Experience with SPC in a production environment a plus.
Education/Experience:
- Associates technical degree in automation or proven automated process mechanical background a plus.
- The position requires 2 or more years of experience supporting high volume manufacturing equipment.
