Job Description Summary
Skilled laboratory technicians that works with complex systems or perform highly technical mechanical or diagnostic tests in medical or scientific laboratories. Assists the laboratory manager to perform complex laboratory maintenance tasks and other laboratory projects, as assigned. Will assists senior level researchers on various supervised research projects within the lab. The technician will carry out routine tasks such as preparation of large animal experiments, place orders for supplies, help maintain inventory and place lab equipment in their designated areas at the end of the day. He/she will gather data from experiments, complete data entry and analyze data in collaboration with Principal Investigators and postdoctoral researchers - with the intent of presenting research results in laboratory meetings.

The Tschabrunn Lab in the Division of Cardiovascular Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania is seeking to hire a Research Technician to join a dynamic translational research environment and support large animal cardiovascular research studies. The lab primary focuses on using clinically relevant large animal models (primarily pigs and sheep) to investigate new cardiovascular therapies, mechanisms of cardiac arrhythmias, and exploration of various imaging modalities. The lab has active collaborations across the School of Medicine and University of Pennsylvania. The Research Technician will work closely with the PI and members of the research team and will perform various duties associated with pre/post operative care and surgical/anesthetic support during complex cardiovascular experimental procedures. The research technician will help maintain research facilities, inventory supplies, and equipment.
