Responsibilities:Summary:
This position directly supports the entire maintenance organization by: Supporting and training Maintenance in troubleshooting/repairing mechanical & electrical including PLC/automation problems on manufacturing and facilities equipment. Taking ownership of assigned projects and driving them to completion while working independently or as part of a team. Developing engineering solutions to eliminate repetitive equipment/process issues. Implementing Continuous Improvement Actions throughout the facility.
Your primary activities will include but are not limited to:
- Perform corrective and preventative maintenance of architectural systems, structural/civil systems, mechanical systems, electrical systems, plumbing systems, process equipment and utility equipment training on and following approved procedures where applicable.
- Troubleshoot and repair facilities, equipment, and systems, including mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, or hydraulic circuits (motors, pumps, compressors, boilers, chillers, and purified and domestic water systems) using manuals, SOPs, specifications, and other workplace aids.
- Provide recommendations and assist with implementation of methods, procedures, and techniques for improving maintenance of existing/new systems as well as assisting with system failure root cause investigations.
- Record all maintenance and repair services performed, and keep track of all materials and parts used during the repair process.
- Prepare documents to include maintenance, quality, and other documents/reports as deemed appropriate following good documentation practices potentially inclusive of deviations, corrective actions preventative actions (CAPA), change controls, and SOP revisions.
- Ensure that Predictive Maintenance technologies (e.g., oil analysis, vibration analysis, thermography, ultrasonics, online and offline motor testing, etc.) are correctly applied on manufacturing assets.
- Work with equipment manufacturers factory and site acceptance testing.
- Monitor the work of others to include contracted suppliers and service providers.
- May lead mechanics and contractors during work in the plant
- Perform any other duties as specified by the Maintenance & CI Manager
- Study manufacturer manuals and blueprints and carefully follow directions when operating and setting up newly-acquired machinery
- Continuously work to improve the level of housekeeping and implement 5S through-out the facility
- Identify and establish machine spares for equipment as needed
- Utilize their (hands on) working knowledge of the following if needed:
- Electrical Schematics (read and write)
- Power circuits up to 480 VAC 3 phase
- Utilize their experience with PLC, HMI, and VFD controls if needed.
- Utilize LEAN tools such as Standardized Work, 5S, Visual Management as well as leading Kaizen projects and documenting results to support continuous improvement projects
- Inspects building equipment such as fire extinguishers, ladders, forklifts, and notifies supervisor of any recommendations or concerns
- Services dehumidifiers
- Responds to repair requests in a timely manner and completes damage reports as observed during maintenance and daily activities
- Makes timely recommendations for facilities upgrades, modifications, and repairs not within the scope of the above listed items or not within the scope of the individual’s capabilities
- Monitors support equipment (air compressors, dust collectors, etc) to ensure proper operation and calibration
- Complete assigned work orders requested by different departments
- Provide all kind of support to equipment maintenance as and when required
- Maintains safe work environment and follows safety policy and procedures to accomplish daily task, maintain cGMP inside plant
- Use appropriate PPE as required for each particular task; be safety conscious for themselves and people around them
You’ll need the following (minimum qualifications):
- Utilize LEAN tools such as Standardized Work, 5S, Visual Management as well as leading Kaizen projects and documenting results to support continuous improvement projects
- Identify and establish machine spares for equipment as needed
- Continuously work to improve the level of housekeeping and implement 5S throughout the facility
- Perform any other duties as specified by the Maintenance & CI Manager
- High School diploma or equivalent, preferably including hands-on or vocational school training, and a minimum of ten (10) years of experience as a general maintenance mechanic in a manufacturing environment, or an equivalent combination of training and experience, or A.S./A.A. Degree in Mechanical/Utilities Technology, or Licensed Journeyman, with a minimum of five (5) years of work experience.
- Must be willing to work altered shift schedules/overtime as needed to support the business
- Daily and Weekend Overtime may be required to complete duties of the position
- Leading mechanics and contractors during work in the plant
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating/maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
A reasonable estimate of the current base hourly range for this position is $26.00 to $50.00. Actual compensation offered may vary depending on skill level, experience, and/or education.
