About the Job
TransCore (TCI) is seeking a talented ITS Technician II to join our team in the Orlando, FL office.
Summary: This position performs on-site or in-house servicing, repair and/or installation of company product(s). This job may include any aspect of field support and installation, and is not limited to electrical, data, and fiber optic cable installation; conduit and pull box installation; and pole and foundation installation. Determines most effective means to install equipment to maximize efficiency.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Installs equipment including but not limited to cameras, detectors, controller cabinets.
- Installs electrical conductor, data conductor, and fiber optic cable.
- Installs pull boxes, conduit, poles, and foundations.
- Connects conductors to equipment to make equipment work correctly.
- Connects electrical conductors to power services to energize equipment.
- Tests devices to ensure they work correctly.
- Prepares logs to keep track of field conditions and installation activities.
Required Skills:
- Typically requires a minimum of 1-2 years of related experience.
- Must successfully complete required background / drug screening that TransCore initiates as part of the hiring process; additionally, when required by project, must successfully complete a Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) and State Law Enforcement Radio System (SLERS) background screen
- Must maintain a valid driver’s license.
- Basic computer and networking experience.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
- Work on assignments that are semi-routine in nature but recognizes the need for occasional deviation from accepted practice.
- Able to work independently with limited supervision and as part of a team
- Follows established procedures on routine work
- Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment
- Practical experience with electronics/technology hardware.
- Must obtain a CDL Class B within six months of starting employment.
- Through knowledge of current desktop technologies and communications software, including windows 2000, XP, serial communications, and TCP/IP concept.
- Knowledge with requesting and performing utility Locates.
- AC / DC Electricity experience.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
- Work on assignments that are semi-routine in nature but recognizes the need for occasional deviation from accepted practice
Desired Skills:
- Class B CDL license.
- Experience in troubleshooting and repairing CCTV and MVDS units and DMS signs.
- Component level board repair experience.
- Industry Specific Certifications.
