Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled and proactive Equipment Repair Technician to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient operation and upkeep of all machinery within our machine shop environment. Your primary goal will be to minimize downtime and optimize production by performing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting mechanical issues, and making necessary repairs.
Job Functions:
- Conduct routine preventive maintenance and inspections on all machinery equipment according to established schedules.
- Diagnose mechanical problems and perform repairs to minimize downtime.
- Replace parts and components as necessary to ensure optimal performance.
- Respond to equipment malfunctions and breakdowns promptly to minimize production interruptions.
- Develop solutions and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repair work performed.
- Document equipment modifications and upgrades for future reference.
- Report on equipment condition, maintenance activities, and operational status to machine shop supervisory personnel.
- Follow all relevant regulations and guidelines for machinery operation and maintenance.
- Provide technical support and guidance to machine operators and other staff as needed.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Prior experience as an Equipment Repair Technician or similar role.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
- Knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems.
- Familiarity with CNC machinery and automated equipment preferred.
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to quality workmanship.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to lift 40 lbs or more when necessary.
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or relevant degree preferred.
