We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Proposal/Response Writer with technical acumen, specializing in government contracting to join our Proposal/Response Management Team. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of developing winning proposals for federal, state, local government and commercial contracts. This role demands a candidate with excellent technical writing skills, attention to detail, independent research methods, a command of the English Language, and the ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines.
Responsibilities:The Proposal Writer will be responsible for creating compelling and persuasive proposals to secure federal contracts. This role requires a deep understanding of the federal procurement process and the ability to articulate complex technical concepts clearly and concisely.
- Works in a team environment with other Proposal/Response employees, senior leaders and C-Suite Executives
- Creates high-quality, clear, concise, and compelling proposal responses to government Requests for Proposals (RFPs), Requests for Information (RFIs), and other solicitations and communication requirements
- Reviews all information relevant to the writing assignment to understand scope.
- Produces Proposal/Response Draft independent of other Company experts by drawing on experience and technical understanding of contract requirements.
- Develops and articulates compelling value propositions, win themes, and differentiators tailored to each opportunity.
- Collaborates with Subject Matter Experts, Program Personnel, Account Directors, and Business Development Team members to refine Drafts and gather additional information to align to all technical, legal, and contractual requirements.
- Writes, edits, and proofreads proposal content to ensure clarity, consistency, proper punctuation/grammar, and compliance with solicitation requirements.
- Assists with development of proposal schedules, outlines, and compliance matrices to help manage the proposal process from start to finish.
- Coordinates proposal reviews and approvals within deadlines.
- Maintains version control and documentation for all proposal-related materials.
REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree in English, Communications, Business, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
- Minimum of 3-5 years dedicated to Proposal/Response writing, with a focus on government contracting.
- Proven independent analytical and research skills using all sources including Demonstrated success in developing winning proposals for federal, state, local government agencies and also for Commercial customers.
- Leveraging the latest Artificial Intelligence capabilities a must.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Exceptional skills in translating technical solutions into clear, persuasive language are understandable to non-technical reviewers.
- Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
- Excellent content management skills, with the ability to manage multiple proposals simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.
- Strong understanding of government procurement processes, regulations, and compliance requirements (FAR, DFARS, etc.).
- Certified Proposal Management Professional (CPMP), similar certifications, and understanding of the Shiplyey Methodology are a plus.
- Advanced experience in use of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint) and proposal management techniques.
