Technical Writer I - United Wholesale Mortgage

About the Job
The technical writer will be responsible for creating, maintaining, and analyzing the needs for technical documentation. The writer will work with multiple software development teams to develop documentation that is relevant to the project.
WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING
- Develop technical documentation that includes configuration guides, user guides, quick reference guides, training guides, reference material, release notes, etc.
- Update documentation for enhancement releases.
- Analyze existing documentation to identify content gaps or inconsistencies.
- Learn a variety of software applications and become self-sufficient at using the software in a user interface environment.
- Quickly learn and apply new tools, processes, and standards.
- Collaborate with a variety of development teams throughout the software development life cycle (SDLC).
- Demonstrate adaptability and forward thinking in the face of technological or organizational change.
WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU
Must Have Qualifications:
- Computer or writing-related degree or equivalent
- Strong organization skills to organize material according to set standards of order, clarity, conciseness, style, and terminology
- Team player who also works well independently and maintains high-quality standards
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as excellent grammar skills
- Ability to prioritize and complete multiple tasks in a fast-pace environment
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs, including Word, Publisher, and Excel
- Enjoy writing and be open to learning a new writing style
- Open minded and a willingness to be coached and mentored
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with MadCap Software
