Technical Writer, Lead - WR Systems

Clearance Requirement:Active Secret Clearance is required to start

Travel Requirements: 5 10%

Location:DamNeck, VA

SUMMARY: WR has an opportunity for a Technical Writer, Lead to provide technical writing and engineering expertise to develop and document engineering and software designs, user operations, and maintenance procedures relevant to the development of the next-generation collection system.

Position responsibilitieswill include, but are not limited to the following:

·Under minimal supervision, researches, develops, writes, revises, and edits content for printed and for all supporting materials.

·Interview programmers, engineers, developers, and other technical personnel to acquire knowledge of product technology and development methods.

·Gathers and researches technical information for use in documentation activities.

·Prepares written documents following standard guidelines for technical publications.

·Reviews, edits, and proofreads work, and materials developed by lower level technical writers.

Candidates must possess the following knowledge, skills, and experience:

·Bachelor’s degree in English, Technical Writing, or similar field.

·Five (5)+ years of technical writing experience.

·Intermediate knowledge in word processing software including MS Word and Adobe.

·Ability to write concise, logical, and grammatically correct documentation, suitable reports, read and interpret documents such as schematics, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, and safety rules.

·Ability to adapt to frequent changes in workload and adjust priorities quickly as circumstances dictate.
