Technical Writer/Editor - UIC Alaska

TECHNICAL WRITER/EDITOR (OSDJT):

Bowhead seeks a Technical Writer/Editor to support the Office of the Secretary of Defense (OSD), Joint Test and Evaluation (JTE&E), Joint Program Office (JPO) supporting Joint/Joint Agency, Combatant Command, and Service joint tests and quick reaction tests.

• Technical editing and writing capabilities, including expertise in word processing; the establishment of documentation guidelines, procedures, and templates; and scheduling, coordination, production, and distribution of deliverables.
• Writing original and rewriting existing material in accordance with defined standards and formats to clearly convey the intent of the document.
• Working with standard style guides and the ability to develop new writing and editing processes and procedures documents as necessary.
• Providing written and oral communications skills needed to identify staff writing requirements and relay technical writing guidance to program and project personnel.
• Implementing and communicating effective internal review procedures to ensure high-quality, on-time deliverables.

• Five to eight (8+) years’ of experience required.
• Bachelor’s degree in relevant field required
• Proficient in Excel, Word, and Power Point.
• Demonstrated excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Demonstrated strong attention to detail.
• Demonstrated skills in prioritization and multi-tasking.

 Physical Demands:

• Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds
• Must be able to stand and walk for prolonged amounts of time
• Must be able to twist, bend and squat periodically

SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS: Must currently hold a security clearance at the Secret level.  US Citizenship is a requirement for Top Secret clearance at this location.
