About the Position
Dexis Professional Services is seeking an experienced Technical Writer Consultant (ad hoc) to support our team's efforts in developing winning proposals for various US Government (USG) agencies, with a focus on USAID, DOD, DOS, DOL, and HHS. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in proposal development and a deep understanding of the intricacies involved in crafting proposals for MEL (Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning) or Institutional Support contracts.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with subject matter experts (SMEs) and proposal teams to gather technical content and develop comprehensive proposal narratives that meet solicitation requirements and address client needs.
- Write, edit, and format proposal sections, including technical approaches, past performance, staffing plans, management plans, and other relevant sections, ensuring clarity, coherence, and compliance with RFP instructions.
- Conduct research and analysis to understand client requirements, program objectives, and industry best practices, and incorporate findings into proposal narratives to enhance competitiveness.
- Develop and maintain proposal templates, boilerplate content, and reusable artifacts to streamline future proposal development efforts.
- Collaborate with proposal team, tech leads, graphic designers, and/or other consultants (as determined and assigned at the Task Order level) to brainstorm, draft, revise, and finalize proposal graphics, organizational charts, process charts, tables, etc.
- Participate in proposal review meetings, incorporate feedback from reviewers, and ensure final proposal submissions are of the highest quality and accuracy.
- Stay updated on industry trends, USG procurement policies, and evolving best practices in proposal development, and share insights with the team to continuously improve our proposal development processes.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in English, Communications, Journalism, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
- Minimum of 5+ years of experience in technical writing, with a focus on developing proposals for USG agencies such as USAID, DOD, DOS, DOL, and HHS.
- Proven track record of successfully supporting the development of winning proposals for MEL or Institutional Support contracts.
- Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills, with the ability to translate technical information into clear and concise language for diverse audiences.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with proposal development tools and templates.
- Experience working collaboratively in cross-functional teams and communicating effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
- Knowledge of USG procurement regulations, FAR/DFARS, and other relevant guidelines preferred.
