Technical Writer with .NET Knowledge
- JOB TYPE: Contract Role
- Duration: 2-3 Months (Primarily On-Site/ Hybrid)
- Pay: $50-$75 an hour
Job Overview: We are seeking a skilled Technical Writer with a strong understanding of .NET technologies to assist in documenting our clients software development processes. The ideal candidate will have a background in IT and development, with the ability to navigate through the discovery phase, blueprint, and document processes efficiently. This role is a hybrid position, blending IT technical knowledge with superior writing and documentation skills.
Key Responsibilities:
Discovery Process Routing:
- Conduct comprehensive discovery sessions to understand software requirements and workflows.
- Collaborate with developers and IT teams to gather technical details.
- Map out processes and workflows accurately.
Documentation and Blueprinting:
- Create detailed blueprints of software architecture and processes.
- Develop clear and concise documentation for technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Ensure all documentation is up-to-date and reflects the current state of the software.
Technical Writing:
- Write and maintain manuals, user guides, and configuration documents.
- Translate complex technical information into easy-to-understand documentation.
- Review and edit content created by developers to ensure clarity and consistency.
Software Configuration Knowledge:
- Document software configurations and setup processes.
- Work closely with the IT team to understand configuration requirements and changes.
Collaboration and Communication:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including developers, project managers, and IT support.
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders to gather information and provide updates on documentation status.
Qualifications:
Technical Background:
- Proven experience in an IT or developer role, with hands-on knowledge of .NET technologies.
- Understanding of coding and mapping processes.
- Ability to grasp complex technical concepts quickly.
Documentation Skills:
- Strong experience in technical writing and documentation.
- Ability to create detailed blueprints and technical documents.
- Familiarity with software configuration and IT technical documentation.

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Experience:
- Prior experience in a hybrid IT/technical writing role.
- Experience with software discovery processes and technical blueprinting.

Work Environment: This position requires a mix of on-site and remote work, with the majority of the time spent on-site. The candidate must be able to work closely with the development and IT teams to gather information and document processes effectively.
