Summary - basic function of the role
To provide a professional technical training service in all required disciplines and to ensure training activities are arranged, evaluated and assessed in accordance with Company procedures including the maintenance of training records. The role will also contribute to promotion of the Hydratight Continuous Improvement process and HSEQ activities.
Shift: Monday - Friday, evenings and weekends may be required
Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Analyze organizational objectives to align training programs with business goals and company standards.
- Take ownership of and oversee the planning and delivery of technical training program, including logistics, required resources; sourcing external training resources when necessary.
- Manage the administration of training, assessment and records of these activities via the company and any awarding body training management systems.
- Upload all training and assessment evidence to the company and awarding body training management systems in a timely manner and ensures the prompt issue of certification to internal and external delegates.
- Review and act upon expiry reports from company and awarding body training management systems in order to effectively plan training and assessment.
- Maintain a personnel record of Continuous Professional Development (CPD) for awarding body audit purposes on an annual basis.
- Maintain all internal and external Train the Trainer (TTT) qualifications including meeting re-assessment deadlines.
- Collaborate weekly with Operations Managers to ensure technician competencies are proactively managed and upcoming demand is anticipated and training planned and executed.
- Develop procedures, training/assessment programs and performs reviews of such documents on a regular basis.
- Present ideas for process improvement, different methods of training delivery and digital transformation.
- Take responsibility for arranging and organizing all major, ad hoc training events
- Remain flexible to requests to travel and deliver training at company academy locations and customer sites within the region and other International locations where required.
- Participate in ad hoc training projects - training needs analysis, competency matrices etc.
- Supervise training delivery by trainers and subject matter experts, while also mentoring trainers.
- Work with non-US Hydratight locations ensuring compliance with training audit requirements and offers advice and assistance as required.
- Collaborate with team leaders in the region to expand the customer training Line of Business.
- Maintain all training equipment to include classrooms, practical training areas, tools, and rigs, ensuring it is safe, always fit for purpose and calibrated where applicable.
- Take responsibility for the selection and ordering of tools and consumables to support the delivery of training and assessment.
- Code, check and approve for payment all US training related invoices
- Collates and prepares information for annual training budget and plan
- Report monthly on training expenditure and documents requiring signature

Skills and Competencies
- Computer skills include knowledge of Microsoft Windows software suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, etc.) and company business ERP system.
- Read and interpret documents such as operating procedural manuals, maintenance instructions, and safety rules and MSDS.
- Ability to enter routine maintenance reports and correspondence.
- Ability to speak effectively before groups, customers, or employees of organization.
- Calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
- Apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
- Resolve problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
- Must have great organizational skills.
Education and Experience
- High School Diploma or general education degree (GED); Continued education in a technical school preferred
- 7+ years' experience in bolting, machining, and/or technical services
- 2 or more year technical training experience preferred
- Forklift certification is preferred.
- Read, Write, and Speak English is required, Bi-lingual in Spanish preferred.
- Must have a valid driver's license and be able to pass site specific background/drug tests.
- Must have or be able to get passport for international travel.
Physical Demands
Employee may have to lift documents/work materials up to 30 pounds in weight. Employee may have to lift tools up to 100 pounds in weight. Employee will have to be able to walk/climb to a variety of primary work locations, including traveling by air/auto to remote sites. This can include occasional ascending or descending ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, poles, and the like. Employee may move themselves in different positions to accomplish tasks in various environments including tight and confined spaces. Employee will need to move about to accomplish tasks or move from one worksite to another. Employee will need to operate machinery and/or power tools, motor vehicles, and heavy equipment. Employee will need to listen, understand, and speak with team members in person, telephonically, and electronically at all levels within a diverse workforce and with supported organizations. Employee will need to assess the accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of the work assigned. Employee can work in front of a personal computer and telephone for long periods of time. Will have repetitive motions that include the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.
Work Environment
Primary work environment is temperature-controlled office setting but may also be visiting different customers where following appropriate safety protocols at the location would be required. While visiting customers, employee may occasionally be exposed to high/low temperatures, outdoor elements (such as precipitation and wind), high levels of noise, hazardous conditions, small and/or enclosed spaces, or adverse environmental conditions.
