Education and experience requirements:
- High School Diploma and up to one year applicable training and experience plus demonstrated knowledge of MS Windows and MS Office Administration.
- Bachelors Degree in a related field of IT/Networking helpful - not required
Essential job functions:
Support
- Provide hardware support for workstations and peripherals
- Provide overall support for workstations, including software/hardware installation, and troubleshooting
- Monitor desktop operations; identifying, reporting, and resolving malfunctions
- Acquire knowledge of network infrastructure
- Assist in the implementation of most major network related projects
- Perform basic Windows and Active Directory security administration
- Escalate problems to the appropriate personnel when necessary
- Provide support for both test and production environments
- Leverage the desktop management suite to provide updates, settings, and support for computer workstations.
Implementation
- Assist in testing and implementing desktop operating systems, software, hardware, and peripherals
- Coordinate hardware and software changes and upgrades to workstations
- Consult with end users to determine needs, evaluate software application and hardware products to determine potential use
- Install and move desktop computer systems and telecommunications systems
Regulatory Compliance
- Know and follow applicable regulatory requirements (GMP, GLP, ISO, etc.)
- Know and follow company policies and procedures
- Assist lab staff with computer related hardware and software validations
- Provide support for document writing and overall standardization of desktop Oss and hardware
Professional Development
- Complete required training on time.
- Provide initial IT training to new employees
Miscellaneous
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Job requirements:
- Strong documentation skills (SOPs, Work Instructions, Visio diagrams)
- Provide overall support for all PC functions, including software installation, hardware installation and troubleshooting.
- Provide hardware support for all workstations and associated peripherals.
- Assist in the testing and implementation of desktop OS's, hardware and peripherals.
- Provide support for document writing and overall standardization of desktop OS's and hardware.
- Escalate problems to the appropriate personnel when it has been determined that the specialist is incapable of personally resolving problem(s).
- Successfully perform work in a team environment.
- Responsible for monitoring desktop operations; identifying, reporting and resolving malfunctions.
- Oversees and assists with the installation of new PC hardware and software.
- Coordinates hardware and software changes and upgrades to workstations.
- Consults with end users to determine needs and evaluates software applications and hardware products to determine potential use within departments.
- Install/move and troubleshoot telecommunications systems.
- Assist lab staff with computer related hardware and software validation.
Physical requirements:
Must be able to stand/walk for 30% of the day and 70% sitting and/or at a computer.
