Collinwood is assisting our client, a well-known and respected chemical manufacturing company in their efforts to hire a Technical Services Specialist SNVE to work remotely in the United States.
Summary:
The Technical Services Specialist is an invaluable member of the Technical/Regulatory Team. Your responsibilities will be to provide innovative solutions to our client's customers globally and to help build the SNVE (sterols & natural vitamin E) business. The role will address customer requests, questionnaires, and product concerns, and offer creative and technically oriented solutions that will help the SNVE business succeed. This role is part of the Commercial Team and will report to the Global Director of Technical Marketing & Regulatory Affairs.
What You Will Be Doing:
- Support customer questionnaires and customer qualification of the company's products (customer specification alignment/approval, allergen forms, risk assessment, Tracegain forms/login).
- Management of the company's RDM (regulatory document management database) – all customer-facing product documentation (specification, TDS, allergen sheet, nutrition sheet, contaminant statements, etc.).
- Support sales in customer meetings to explain technical aspects of the product line.
- Support technical training for the sales team and distributors.
- Establish and maintain relationships with key technical customer contacts.
- Engage the team whenever necessary with technical requests and sample requests.
- Ensure product labeling and nutrition statements meet FDA and global standards.
- Become a resource both internally and externally for technical aspects of the product line – product specification, product application, SNVE general production, release testing, quality, etc.
- Provide technical support to sales/customers, working with QA/QC and other groups on OOS products and non-conformances.
What We Need From You:
- Food Science experience (CFS) and/or Application science experience preferred.
- Knowledge of FDA and/or USP Vitamins and FDA food regulations (including FSMA) and FDA labeling regulations (nutrition facts panel), preferably Vitamin E and phytosterols experience
- Additional knowledge of other US and Global regulations preferred (FDA cosmetics, EPA pesticides, USDA, EU/EFSA, Health Canada, FSANZ, China NMPA, USP-NF monographs, JECFA monographs, Eur. Pharm. monographs, etc.
- Knowledge of Food certifications preferred (GFSI, HACCP, kosher/halal, IP/GMO, US National Bioengineered foods, etc.)
- Familiarity with lab and/or production GMP environments.
- Experience with SAP preferred
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills (this role will be customer-facing).
- Ability to work at a rapid cadence – manage multiple priorities and manage multiple tasks and priorities
- Process and continuous improvement oriented.
- Proactive, self-directed, and organized with a strong work ethic.
- Willingness to take on project ownership and accountability.
- Required: BS degree in biology, chemistry, nutrition science, and/or other applied science with 5+ years experience; or MS degree with 2+ years of experience.
Other:
- This role will be a remote, computer-based role, so being a proactive and engaged team member is extremely important.
- Up to 10% travel may be required (accessibility for travel to the Kankakee IL plant, other SNVE plants, trade shows, and customer meetings).
